Meet Dr. Robert Burk

Dr. Burk believes in staying ahead of the latest medical breakthroughs to deliver the stunning results that he achieves — all with the safest, most advanced surgical techniques. Above all, Dr. Burk is focused on his patients’ wellbeing and satisfaction, helping them to attain the results they desire with his surgical abilities, keen eye, and sharp mind. Dr. Burk is a true artist, although he often says, “I have to give credit to my mother [a couture tailor] for my skilled hands.”

Education and Training

Dr. Burk attended the University of Virginia, where he graduated with the highest distinction. At the prestigious Duke University, Dr. Burk earned his medical degree. From there, he attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he completed his five-year general surgery training program. Under the guidance of Dr. Luis Vasconez, a leading plastic surgeon, Dr. Burk completed a two-year aesthetic and endoscopic plastic surgery residency at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

Dr. Burk has been board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1997. Throughout his career, Dr. Burk has given numerous lectures and published a variety of scientific articles on various plastic surgery topics. 

While at the University of Virginia, Dr. Burk was inducted into the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest honor society for the liberal arts and sciences. In addition, during his chief year in his five-year surgical program, Dr. Burk was chosen as the Outstanding Teaching Resident.

Personal Life

Dr. Burk is passionate about his five children and granddaughter, who keep him on his toes. He has tirelessly coached many of them in basketball, baseball, or football throughout their lives. When not on the grass field, Dr. Burk is surfing, going to the gym, or shaking his head at his favorite professional sports teams on TV. When time allows, Dr. Burk and his beautiful wife Rabiah (who is a clinical mental health counselor) enjoy traveling to St. Barth, being foodies in New York City, and hosting epic events in their new home.
