HALO Laser Skin Resurfacing Overview

Feel Great in Your Skin With Advanced HALO Technology

Youthful skin is resilient and able to repair itself as it is damaged, but as skin ages, it needs more help staying strong and healthy. So as the skin is exposed to sun, pollution, dirt, and other environmental factors, over-the-counter products may not be enough to keep skin smooth and radiant. This is where HALO can make a significant difference. HALO penetrates the skin with one deep wavelength and then superficially with another wavelength. This stimulates collagen deep within the dermis while also vaporizing the epidermis.

HALO Laser Treatment Details

To help you feel more comfortable during the procedure, a numbing cream or topical anesthetic may be applied to your skin before the treatment begins. This takes approximately 20 minutes. Once your skin is cleansed and prepped, your provider will carefully roll the HALO handpiece over your skin for an even application. Depending on the strength of the treatment and the size of the area being treated, a HALO procedure may take 30-60 minutes.

What Will My Recovery and Results Be Like?

After a HALO treatment, you may feel some warmth or a prickling sensation in the treated areas for 15-45 minutes. However, you should be able to resume your normal activities.

On the first day, you can expect to have some redness. Between days 2-7, you may have a little bit of pink and blotchy skin. On days 3-5, you will peel some and have tiny bits of epidermal debris which looks like microscopic bits of sandpaper in the skin. This will flake off, and by day seven, you will have a gorgeous glow that will continue to improve over the next few months.

Be sure to never pick or disturb the peeling as the skin naturally sloughs off.

How often should I have a HALO treatment?

What is the best way to maintain results from HALO treatments?

How often should I have a HALO treatment?

HALO treatments are customized to be more or less aggressive for each patient based on their skin concerns and needs. You may need several less aggressive treatments for sensitive skin, or you may want a few stronger treatments to see results faster. Your provider can help determine your best treatment plan, including how many treatments to get and how often to schedule them.

What is the best way to maintain results from HALO treatments?

After HALO treatments, you will need to take great care to protect your skin by using consistent sun protection like UV sunscreen. Your skin will be sensitive after a HALO treatment, so it’s important to talk to your provider about the best skincare products to soothe and rehydrate their skin. Touch-up treatments are also recommended to help extend your results and reveal deeper benefits.
